Physiculus karrerae, the Japanese codling, is a deep-water bottom-dwelling fish of the Atlantic Ocean. It grows up to 27.4 cm (10.8 in) long. It is listed as Least Concern by the IUCN. Scientific classification: Kingdom Animalia, Phylum Chordata, Class Actinopterygii, Order Gadiformes, Family Moridae, Genus Physiculus, Species P. karrerae. The species was named in honor of German ichthyologist Christine Karrer for her contributions to morid fishes and was described by Paulin in 1989.
