Alexander Walke
Alexander Walke, born 6 June 1983 in Oranienburg, East Germany, is a German former professional football goalkeeper. He started at Energie Cottbus as a 14-year-old, moved to Werder Bremen in 1999 and broke into the first team in 2003. He then played for SC Freiburg, Wehen Wiesbaden and Hansa Rostock before joining Red Bull Salzburg in 2010. After a one-year loan to Greuther Fürth in 2011, he returned to Salzburg and became the first-choice keeper. In 2017–18, Salzburg had a record European run, reaching the Europa League semi-finals. Walke retired in 2023 and now works as a youth goalkeeping coach at Salzburg.
Internationally, he represented Germany at U-20 (2002) and U-21 (2003) levels, and played in the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship, where he tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). He finished his club career with 242 appearances and zero goals. He is 1.89 meters tall.
