Sarah Rose (swimmer)
Sarah Rose (born 18 February 1986 in Sydney) is an Australian Paralympic swimmer who competes in freestyle and butterfly. She has dwarfism and competes in the S8, SB7, and SM8 classifications. Rose represented Australia at the 2004 Athens Paralympics, winning bronze in the Women's 50 m Butterfly S6. She also competed at the 2008 Beijing Games and won silver at the 2006 IPC Swimming World Championships in Durban in the Women's 50 m Butterfly S6. After a serious back injury, she made a comeback and earned selection for the Australian team for the 2012 London Games. Rose was an Australian Institute of Sport paralympic swimming scholarship holder from 2004 to 2009. Outside sport, she works as an administrative assistant for The House with No Steps, an organization that helps people with disabilities. In 2016, she received the Speedo Services to the Australian Swim Team award at Swimming Australia Awards.
