Kambadakone
Kambadakone, also known as Khambadakone, is a village in Byndoor taluk, Udupi district, Karnataka, India. The 2011 census records 3,806 residents (1,819 men and 1,987 women). The name comes from the Kadamba Empire that once ruled the area. Most people earn a living from farming and fishing. The nearest railway stations are Bijoor and Mookambika (Byndoor). The village has a literacy rate of about 75%. Some students leave school each year to work in fisheries or farms. There are several primary and middle schools, one high school, and one college: Government Pre University College Kambadakone, offering arts, commerce, and science courses, with teaching mainly in English or Kannada. The postal code is 576232 and vehicle registrations are KA.
