Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart ranks the top songs in the United States’ adult contemporary radio market each week, based on radio airplay data collected by Broadcast Data Systems.

- January 2, 2021: White Christmas by Meghan Trainor featuring Seth MacFarlane was number one for its fourth week.

- The following week, Blinding Lights by The Weeknd took the top spot. It had previously been number one for five weeks the prior year and went on to stay at number one for 30 non-consecutive weeks in 2021.

- Blinding Lights’ run ended on July 31, 2021, when Levitating by Dua Lipa reached number one.

- Blinding Lights then returned to number one for one week, followed by Levitating reclaiming the top spot and staying there for 12 consecutive weeks.

- Overall, Blinding Lights spent 35 weeks at number one on the AC chart, just one week short of the record held by Girls Like You by Maroon 5 and Cardi B.

- November 13, 2021: Easy On Me by Adele topped the chart, her first AC number one since 2016. It climbed to the top in its fourth week on the list and marked the fastest rise to number one for a non-Christmas song since Hello in 2015, tying for the second-fastest rise since Nielsen data began in 1993.

- It was replaced at the top by Bad Habits by Ed Sheeran, which reached number one in its 22nd week on the chart.

- December 11, 2021: Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! by Michael Bublé topped the chart. This continued the December trend of Christmas-themed songs leading the AC chart as stations switch to festive tunes for the holidays.
