Robert C. Schenck (politician)
Robert C. "Rob" Schenck (born July 8, 1975) is a Republican who served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2006 to 2014. He represented the 44th district from 2006 to 2012 and the 35th district from 2012 to 2014, including Spring Hill and Brooksville in Hernando County.
Schenck was born in Somerville, New Jersey, and moved to Florida in 1980. He attended Central High School, earned an A.A. from Pasco-Hernando Community College in 1995, and a B.S. from the University of Central Florida in 1998. He worked as a social studies teacher at Central High School before entering public office.
He was elected to the Hernando County Commission in 2002, then resigned in July 2006 to run for the Florida House. In 2006 he won the Republican primary with about 58% and narrowly defeated Democrat Glenn Claytor in the general election. He was reelected in 2008 and 2010, defeating Jason Melton and Sarah Roman in 2008 and Diane Rowden in 2010. After redistricting in 2012, he ran in the 35th District and won with about 56%.
Schenck left the House after his term ended in 2014. In September 2014 he was involved in a car accident, and the case was not decided. He had previously worked as a teacher and county commissioner before serving in the state legislature.
