Karlheinz Steinmüller
Karlheinz Steinmüller, born 4 November 1950 in Klingenthal, East Germany, is a German physicist and science fiction writer. He studied at Humboldt University and writes in German. Together with his wife, Angela Steinmüller, he has produced many science fiction short stories and novels that explore human development on a cosmic scale and are grounded in an analysis of social structures and how societies work. In the German Democratic Republic, the Steinmüllers were among the most popular SF authors, topping a 1989 poll of the era’s most loved writers. Their works continue to be republished today.
