Brown grew up in Franklin, Georgia, and played at Heard County High School. College career
At Michigan, Brown played from 2006 to 2009. As a freshman in 2006, he appeared in seven games and had 41 rushing yards on 16 carries. In 2007, he started three games and was Michigan’s third-leading rusher with 382 yards and four touchdowns, recording his first TD against Purdue and his first 100-yard game against Illinois. Injuries limited his 2008 season to five games, with his lone 100-yard effort coming against Northwestern (115 yards). In 2009, he had a standout game against Eastern Michigan, rushing for 187 yards including a 90-yard TD run, one of the longest plays in Michigan history; he earned Big Ten co-offensive player of the week honors for that performance.
Professional career
Brown went undrafted in 2010 and signed with the New Orleans Saints as a free agent. He was waived later that May. He then joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in August 2010 but was released in September. In January 2011, the New York Jets signed him to a futures contract, though he was waived in August 2011. His NFL career largely involved offseason or practice squad time.
