Luanne
"Luanne" is Foreigner’s fifth and final single from their 1981 album 4. It was released in July 1982 in the US. The song is about 3 minutes long (3:25 on the album version and 3:11 as the single). The B-side is a live version of their hit "Hot Blooded," which isn’t on the album. Written by Lou Gramm and Mick Jones and produced by Mick Jones and Mutt Lange, it reached number 75 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The live "Hot Blooded" B-side later appeared on some releases but was dropped in newer editions because of spoken words during Gramm’s performance.
Critics praised the track for its catchy hook and guitar-driven sound. Some felt it had a classic rock feel, with comparisons to John Fogerty, and others described it as a driving, first-class Foreigner rock melody. Reviewers noted its crisp guitar base and twangy hooks, aligning it more with Foreigner’s earlier hits than their synth-heavy later work.
