Rehabilitation Hospital of Rhode Island, also known as Fogarty Hospital, is a private rehabilitation hospital in the Park Square area of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, at 116 Eddie Dowling Highway (Route 146A). It has a second unit at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. It is the state's only stand-alone hospital dedicated entirely to inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. It treats people with acute illness, traumatic injury, major surgery, or life-changing disease. The hospital began as the John E. Fogarty Memorial Hospital, built in 1965 and named after Congressman John E. Fogarty, who supported health care improvements. In 1988, Fogarty Hospital merged with Landmark Hospital of Woonsocket to form the Fogarty Unit of Landmark Medical Center. Prime Healthcare Services acquired the hospital in 2013.
