Touched with Fire (book)
Touched with Fire: Manic-Depressive Illness and the Artistic Temperament is a book by American psychologist Kay Redfield Jamison. It looks at how bipolar disorder may be connected to creativity. Jamison shares many case studies of famous writers, artists, and composers who may have had cyclothymia, major depressive disorder, or bipolar disorder. The book has been widely praised and has influenced academic work on the link between mental illness and artistic talent. A film called Touched with Fire, directed and written by Paul Dalio (who is bipolar), draws on the book and uses it in its story.
