Shixi station
Shixi Station is a Guangzhou Metro station on the Guangfo Line. It is built underground under the intersection of Gongye Avenue South and Xingye Road in Haizhu District, Guangzhou. The station has two tracks and one island platform, is accessible for people with disabilities, and is operated by Guangzhou Metro Co. Ltd. It opened on 28 December 2018 and is about 200 meters from Gongye Avenue South station on Line 10, but transfers between the two are not an official interchange and require a new fare.
The station layout has three entrances/exits (B and D opened at the start; Exit A opened on 16 January 2020). Ground level exits lead to surrounding streets and buildings; the concourse is on the first underground level and the Guangfo Line platform on the second level. Facilities include automatic ticket machines, an intelligent customer service center, toilets, and a nursery room near the platform end toward Lijiao. Elevators, escalators, and stairs provide access within the paid area.
Construction began in August 2009. A water pipe burst during foundation work in 2009 affected nearby residents’ water supply. The main structure was completed in 2011, and some exits were delayed due to land ownership issues. The section to Lijiao was completed and handed over for operation on 23 September 2018, and Shixi Station opened on 28 December 2018. In late 2022, COVID-19 control measures temporarily reduced service hours from 5 November to 30 November, with normal services resuming afterward.
