Ralph Peters (LIRR)
Ralph Peters (November 19, 1853 – October 9, 1923) was an American railroad executive who led the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR). He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, into a prominent family. Peters earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1872. He became president of the LIRR in April 1905. Peters died at his home in Garden City, Long Island, New York, on October 9, 1923.
