Brik-II (satellite)
Brik-II is the first satellite for the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force. Built as a small nanosatellite by ISISpace, the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) and TU Delft, it weighs under 10 kilograms and is designed to help with navigation, communications, and observing the Earth. The project began after a contract signed on 30 November 2017 by then-Commander Dennis Luyt. Brik-II was launched on 30 June 2021 aboard Virgin Orbit’s LauncherOne rocket. It is named after Brik, the first airplane of the Dutch Air Force. Its identifiers are COSPAR ID 2021-058F and SATCAT 48876, and the mission is planned to last about three years, operated by the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force.
