St. Nicholas Chapel (Ekuk, Alaska)

St. Nicholas Chapel, known locally as the Santa Claus Church, is a small Russian Orthodox church near Ekuk, Alaska. It was built around 1918–1919 to replace an earlier church. The building is a single-story wooden structure. It started out 16 feet wide and 21 feet long, but the main room was later lengthened to 34 feet.

The church and its graveyard sit on a bluff above the coast. The bluff erodes, and the church sits about 185 feet from the shoreline, which could put it at risk in the next 50–100 years.

St. Nicholas Chapel was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on June 6, 1980. It is part of the Russian Orthodox Church Buildings and Sites group.
