Punta Sal

Punta Sal is a beach village on Peru’s Pacific coast in the northern region of Tumbes, about 110 kilometers from the Ecuador border. Its equatorial location means the sea is warm year-round, helped by the El Niño current. The beaches have pale white sand and blue, calm waters, making Punta Sal a popular seaside resort. The coastline is about 6.5 kilometers long and is divided into two areas: Punta Sal Chica (a curved beach with white sand) and Punta Sal Grande (a longer stretch with similar sand). The water stays around 24°C all year. The area is part of the Contralmirante Villar District in Tumbes.
