Robert M. Hall
Robert M. Hall (September 27, 1909 – December 21, 1998) was an American media executive who founded Publishers-Hall Syndicate and later Hall Communications. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, and studied at Brown University (class of 1934) and Columbia School of Journalism (1936).
Hall started as a salesman for United Features Syndicate and helped form the Post Syndicate with the New York Post in 1944, which became Post-Hall Syndicate. In 1955 he bought out the Post and renamed it Hall Syndicate. He bought his first radio station in Connecticut in 1964 and, in 1967, sold Hall Syndicate to Field Enterprises. He then formed Hall Communications and expanded with radio stations across the eastern United States. He stepped down as president in 1991 and as chair in 1998, handing the company to his daughter Bonnie Hall Rowbotham and her husband Art.
