HMS Greyhound (1773)

HMS Greyhound (1773) was a modified Mermaid-class sixth-rate frigate of the Royal Navy. Built by Henry Adams at Bucklers Hard, she was laid down in February 1771, launched on 20 July 1773, and completed on 9 January 1776 at Portsmouth Dockyard. She was commissioned in October 1775 under Captain Archibald Dickson.

- 16 May 1778: captured American schooner Dolphin off Cape Charles
- 18 May 1778: captured American schooner Herbert
- 19 May 1778: captured sloop Fame off Cape Charles

Fate
- Wrecked off Deal on 9 June 1781.
