Omex is a small commune in southwestern France. It is in the Hautes-Pyrénées department in the Occitanie region. The town sits in the Argelès-Gazost arrondissement and the Lourdes-1 canton, and it is part of the Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées intercommunalité. The area covers 15.53 square kilometers. In 2023, 217 people lived there, for a population density of about 39 inhabitants per square kilometer. Elevation ranges from 409 to 1,133 meters (average around 450 meters). The postal code is 65100 and the INSEE code is 65334. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Evelyne Laborde. Omex is located at 43°04′35″N, 0°04′46″W. It is known in Occitan as Aumets. The town uses CET (UTC+1) in winter and CEST (UTC+2) in summer.
