Polk Street Concrete Cottage Historic District
Polk Street Concrete Cottage Historic District is a small national historic district in Gary, Indiana. It includes four houses on Polk Street (604–614) in the First Subdivision. Built starting in 1910, the homes were designed by architect D. F. Creighton and built by the United States Sheet & Tin Plate Co. They are Edison Concept Houses, a design idea promoted by inventor Thomas Edison, reflecting Bungalow and American Craftsman styling. The district covers less than an acre and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 15, 2011 (reference number 11000657).
