Amanita breckonii is a mushroom in the genus Amanita. It is found in California and Washington, where it forms a mycorrhizal partnership with trees such as Monterey pine, ponderosa pine, and spruce. The species was described in 1982 by mycologists Harry D. Thiers and Joseph Ammirati. The holotype was collected in 1966 on the campus of San Francisco State University by Gary Breckon, and the species is named in his honor. It has the typical features of Amanita mushrooms, including a cap, a stalk with a ring, gills, and white spores. The edibility is unknown, and because many Amanita species are poisonous, it is not recommended to eat this mushroom.
