Philotas (Antigonid general)

Philotas (Greek: Φιλώτας) was a Macedonian general serving Antigonus I Monophthalmus. In 319 BC he tried to win over the Argyraspides, who were with Eumenes, by bribery and promises, targeting their leaders Antigenes and Teutamus. The plan failed: Teutamus was briefly tempted but, with the help of his firmer-minded colleague, remained loyal, and the Argyraspides stayed faithful.
