Un Soir de Joie
Un Soir de Joie is a Belgian comedy film directed by Gaston Schoukens, released in 1955. The story takes place in Belgium during World War II, when the country was under German occupation. It follows the Resistance as they publish a fake edition of the German newspaper Le Soir, called Faux Soir, to mock the occupiers. The fake paper is printed and sold in newsstands, filled with humorous and patriotic jokes.
The film was shot on location in Brussels in the 1950s, giving a real sense of the city at that time. The cast includes Marcel Roels, Roger Dutoit, Jean-Pierre Loriot, Victor Guyau, Madeleine Rivière, Jacques Philippet, and Francine Vendel. The events are based on a true story from November 1943.
