Pedro Munhoz is a Brazilian mixed martial artist who fights in the UFC’s Bantamweight division. Born on September 7, 1986, in São Paulo, he started martial arts with Shotokan karate at age six, later added judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, earning a black belt in BJJ. He turned pro in 2009, fought in Brazil and the United States, and became the Resurrection Fighting Alliance bantamweight champion in 2013, defending the title in 2014 before signing with the UFC.

Munhoz trains with Kings MMA early in his career and has been with American Top Team since 2017. He fights out of Coconut Creek, Florida, is 5'6" tall, weighs 135 pounds, and has a 65-inch reach. His fighting style blends wrestling, grappling, and aggressive striking.

In the UFC, Munhoz has earned several notable moments. He delivered a first‑round knockout of Cody Garbrandt at UFC 235 in 2019, which earned Fight of the Night. He also fought top contenders like José Aldo and Dominick Cruz in 2021, with a win over Cruz coming in a close, competitive bout. A rematch win over Jimmie Rivera in January 2021 and a Fight of the Night performance against Frankie Edgar in 2020 (which he lost by split decision) are among his highlights. He battled Sean O’Malley in 2022, a fight ruled a no contest due to an inadvertent eye poke, and later defeated Chris Gutiérrez in 2023. He has losses to Marlon Vera in 2023, Kyler Phillips in 2024, and Aiemann Zahabi in 2024.

Munhoz has faced a doping-related setback early in his UFC career; in 2015 he received a one-year suspension after a testosterone metabolite test, with a win changed to a no-contest after review.

Off the mats, Munhoz is a family man with two daughters, one from a previous relationship and one with his wife, Varinea.
