N73 road (Ireland)

The N73 is a national secondary road located entirely in County Cork, Ireland. It runs about 34 km from the M8 motorway near Mitchelstown to Mallow, roughly east to west. The route bypasses Mitchelstown to the north via the Mitchelstown relief road, which opened in July 2006, then passes through Kildorrery before heading toward Mallow and merging with the N72 about 3 km east of the town.

The road is mostly a single carriageway with few overtaking opportunities and only a small hard shoulder. There are no major improvements planned for the near future; only minor work has been done so far. On 25 May 2009, the Mitchelstown bypass of the old N8 was redesignated the N73 when the Mitchelstown–Fermoy section of the M8 opened.
