The List of artists in the Philadelphia Museum of Art handbook of the collections is a simple guide to the museum’s artists. It includes an introduction by Anne D’Harnencourt and was produced in 1995 as a 25th anniversary gift by the Museum Associates. The museum’s collections are spread across several sites in Fairmount Park, including The Rodin Museum and the Neo-classical building at the end of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The collection has over 70,000 objects, with thousands on view at any time. The guide is organized into seven sections. Each entry shows an artist’s name, the location of one of their works, and the page number in the guide. If an artist has more than one work, or if works by artists not listed here exist, see the museum’s website for the full list. Of the listed artists, only nine are women. For the complete list of artists and artworks, see the museum’s website.
