Louis Gallois
Louis Gallois (born 26 January 1944 in Montauban, France) is a former French civil servant and businessman. He studied at Sainte-Geneviève, then HEC Paris (graduating in 1966) and ENA (1972). He held several government roles, including head of the civil and military cabinet in the defense ministry (1988–1989). He was chairman and CEO of Snecma from 1989 to 1992, then CEO of Aérospatiale from 1992 to 1996, and President of SNCF from 1996 until that year. He joined EADS in July 2006 and became CEO of Airbus S.A.S. in October 2006. On 16 July 2007, EADS appointed him CEO for five years. He left EADS on 31 May 2012, and Tom Enders succeeded him. After EADS, he served as France’s Commissioner for Investment (2012–2014). He has been a board member of École Centrale Paris and president of Fondation Villette-Entreprises, and in June 2012 was elected president of FNARS.
