Bhim Singh Chandravanshi (born 30 November 1962) is an Indian educationist and politician from Bihar. He is currently a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, representing Bihar since 3 April 2024. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and serves as the party’s vice president in Bihar.

Earlier in his career, he was a cabinet minister in the Bihar government from 2012 to 2015 under Chief Ministers Nitish Kumar and Jitan Ram Manjhi, handling Rural Works, Road Construction, Panchayati Raj, Industries and Sugarcane.

He was a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from 2006 to 2015, serving three terms.

Education and early career: Bhim Singh studied at Patna University, earning a BSc, MA, LLB and a PhD. He was active as a student and employee leader at Patna University, building early political ties with leaders such as Karpuri Thakur, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Ram Vilas Paswan and Nitish Kumar.

Political journey: He helped form the Janata Dal as General Secretary, co-founded the Samata Party with Nitish Kumar, and later joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal as state general secretary. He switched to Janata Dal United in 2009 and joined the BJP in 2015.

Controversy: He drew criticism for a remark about army personnel, saying that people who join the army “either die or become martyrs.” The BJP distanced itself from the statement.
