The World Rowing Coastal Championships are the official coastal rowing world championships run by World Rowing. They began in 2006 as the Rowing Coastal World Challenge and gained official World Championship status in 2007. They have been held every year since, except in 2012 and 2020. The races use an endurance format, typically 4–6 km long. Heats and B-finals are on 4 km courses, while the A-finals are on 6 km courses. Starts and finishes can be on land or at sea, depending on the venue and conditions.
