Pottersburg is an unincorporated community in Allen Township, Union County, Ohio. It sits along U.S. Route 33 about four miles west of Marysville, between Marysville and Bellefontaine. The community began in 1868 when the Atlantic and Great Western Railroad arrived and a sawmill was built. It was originally called Pottersburgh. The Pottersburgh Post Office opened on June 29, 1869. In 1872, a railroad depot and telegraph office were added. By 1877, Pottersburg had two stores, one warehouse, a telegraph office, and a district school. The post office name was changed to Pottersburg on June 1, 1894, and it closed on October 30, 1926. Mail is now handled through the Marysville post office.
