Llantarnam School
Llantarnam School was a state-funded secondary school in Llantarnam, Cwmbran, Wales. Construction began in 1950 and it opened as a secondary modern school, later becoming a comprehensive in 1971. By 1975 it had added a sixth form building, a sports hall and a leisure centre. In 2015 the school closed and merged with Fairwater High to form Cwmbran High School. It served about 1,400 students aged 11 to 19.
In 2012 the school received a poor inspection and was placed on special measures. The site had several blocks named after local rivers, with the main canteen and a sixth form area in different blocks.
Today the site is housing called St. Michael's Gate. The playing fields became part of Llantarnam Primary School, which sits on a site rebuilt as Oakfield Grange in 2017.
