Valentin Alexandrovich Ternavtsev (February 27, 1866 – August 28, 1940) was a Russian author, publisher and religious activist. He helped organize the Religious and Philosophical Society, which operated from 1901 to 1903. From 1906 to 1917 he was a high-ranking official in the Russian Orthodox Church’s Holy Synod, known as an active reformer within the church. He was born in Melitopol in the Russian Empire (now Ukraine) and died in Serpukhov, Moscow region, USSR, at the age of 74.
