Basia on Broadway
Basia on Broadway is a 1995 live album by Polish singer Basia. Released on October 31, 1995 by Sony Music, it captures 16 performances recorded at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York City on November 24–25, 1994 during Basia’s Broadway engagement. The album, subtitled Live at the Neil Simon Theatre, runs 76 minutes and 12 seconds and features Basia’s jazzy pop style in English with one Polish-language track.
The 16 tracks include four songs from Time and Tide (1987), seven from London Warsaw New York (1990), and three from The Sweetest Illusion (1994). It also includes “Half a Minute” from the 1984 Matt Bianco album Whose Side Are You On? and a Polish-language cover, “Dzień się budzi” (The Day Is Dawning). Live versions of “Half a Minute” and “Time and Tide” were released as singles in the UK and Japan.
Basia on Broadway sits in her discography after The Sweetest Illusion (1994) and before Clear Horizon – The Best of Basia (1998). It was produced by Danny White for Sony Music Entertainment.
