James Kunetka
James William Kunetka (born September 29, 1944) is an American writer famous for science fiction novels Warday and Nature's End. He has also written non-fiction about the atomic age. Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he earned a BA in Political Science from the University of Texas at Austin. His first book, City of Fire, appeared in 1978. He co-authored Warday with his longtime friend Whitley Strieber, making it his best-known work; a film adaptation was planned but never made. In 2000, Kunetka took a leadership role at UT Austin as director of communications and constituent relations and later served as an associate vice president before retiring.
