David Alan Petherbridge, commonly known as Alan Petherbridge, MBE, was a British judo athlete. He was born on 10 September 1927 in Swansea, Wales, and died on 30 July 2020 in Sketty, Wales, at the age of 92.

A dedicated judoka, Petherbridge held the 9th dan black belt and trained with the Samurai Judo Club in Swansea. He represented the United Kingdom at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. In 1962 he won a bronze medal at the Essen Open.

For his services to judo, he was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 1997. He was inducted into the Welsh Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
