Grace Marra

Grace Marra is an American musician from Olean, New York. She directs the Midland Men of Music, conducts the Chancel Choir at First United Methodist Church in Midland, Michigan, and runs the private voice studio Grace Notes. The Midland group started as the Dow Male Chorus tied to Dow Chemical Co.; in 1961 they left Dow and became the Men of Music. Marra began directing them in late 1993. She has led the church’s adult chancel choir for more than 20 years and has also led its children’s, youth’s, and bell choirs. Grace Notes is a Midland landmark. She teaches more than 40 students weekly, both children and adults. She ranked eighth in her high school class and earned a bachelor’s degree in music education and performance from SUNY Fredonia, followed by a master’s degree from Colorado State University.
