ETF Shares
ETF Shares is a Sydney-based Australian investment management company that focuses on exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Founded in 2024, it aims to be a homegrown challenger to dominant global managers like Vanguard, BlackRock (iShares), and Global X by serving financial advisers and retail investors directly. The firm is chaired by Graham Tuckwell, and was created by Cliff Man (CEO) and David Tuckwell (CIO), both former Global X executives. It is backed by ETFS Capital, Tuckwell’s venture capital firm.
In May 2025, ETF Shares launched a set of products on Cboe Australia, starting with three funds that track the US equity market. The leadership team was expanded with William Taylor joining as COO from Global X. In November 2025, six months after the Cboe launch, the company moved its ETFs to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), shortly before Cboe announced the sale of its Australian business. The leadership has said Australia should consider legislation to support a competitor exchange to ASX. ETF Shares remains focused on passive index-tracking ETFs.
