Moved by the Motion
Moved by the Motion is a group of interdisciplinary artists who work with language, movement, images, and sound. The group began in 2013. Its lineup is fluid, starting with two or three people and now about seven or eight. Wu Tsang is a member and has compared the group to a band.
In January 2022, they opened an experiential sound installation at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, which stayed through June 2022. The 2022 SFMOMA installation included Asma Maroof, Tapiwa Svosve, Patrick Belaga, Fred Moten, Serpentwithfeet, Tosh Basco, Ahya Simone, Daniel Pineda, and David Quam.
In 2022, it was announced that Moved by the Motion will participate in the Whitney Biennial, curated by Adrienne Edwards and David Breslin.
