Gayatri Patel Bahl is an American actress, filmmaker, and Indian classical dancer. Born Gayatri Patel in the United States to a Gujarati family, she studied at Emory University in Atlanta. She is married to Sumeet Bahl and they have a son.

Before acting on screen, she excelled in dance and pageants, winning Miss India Georgia and finishing as first runner-up in Miss India United States. At Emory, she also acted in English theatre, including The Three Sisters as Irina.

In India she appeared in four music videos produced by Venus Films opposite Jugal Hansraj, and made her Bollywood debut in Let’s Dance. She later guest-starred in Rishta.com as Husna (episode 19, season 1).

Back in New York, she has guest-starred on FBI: Most Wanted, Partner Track, New Amsterdam (2018), and Law & Order SVU, and has appeared in Martin Scorsese’s Vinyl, Mr. Robot, and Showtime’s The Loudest Voice. In 2017 she was featured in Elle Magazine US Movement Series.

Patel Bahl is the writer, director, co-producer and star of the award-winning short film TINA. She trained in Kathak with various teachers: at 15 she studied in Bangalore with Maya Rao; in Mumbai with Vijayshree Chaudhary (trained under Pandit Birju Maharaj in Delhi for about 10–12 years). She studied Hindi with Satyadev Dubey and sat in on Makrand Deshpande’s rehearsals, and trained with Veena Mehta, who taught the cast of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na.
