M'Clintock Ice Shelf

M'Clintock Ice Shelf was a Canadian ice shelf attached to northern Ellesmere Island. By 1961–1962 its connection to the land had become weak. Most of the shelf broke away between 1963 and 1965, and the remaining 10 square kilometers at Borup Point broke off in 1966. Since then, years of landfast sea ice, containing ice shelf fragments, have covered the mouth of M’Clintock Inlet. It is located in the Qikiqtaaluk Region of Nunavut.
