Fish River Station is a protected area in the Northern Territory of Australia. It is classified as IUCN Category II, like a national park.

Location and size: It lies about 50 km south of Daly River and 150 km south of Darwin. It covers about 1,781 square kilometers.

Boundaries: The Daly River forms its northern and eastern edge, Wingate Mountains are to the west, and Dorisvale and Florina Stations lie to the south.

History and ownership: The area was designated as a protected area around 2010. In 2011, the Indigenous Land Corporation, with the Nature Conservancy, Pew Environmental Group, and the Australian Government’s National Reserve System, bought the property for about A$13 million. Management was then handed back to the traditional owners—the Wagiman, Labarganyan, Malak Malak, and Kamu peoples.

What the land is like: The landscape includes the Daly River floodplain with many billabongs, pockets of rainforest, rugged ranges, and savannah woodland.

Governing body: Nature Conservancy, with management returned to the traditional owners in 2011.
