Superkings is a British cigarette brand owned by Imperial Tobacco. It was launched in 1983. The name comes from cigarettes longer than 84 mm, known as “super king-sized.” The brand has been marketed mainly to working-class female smokers and was the ninth most popular in the UK in 2007, with about 3.3% of the market. The original Superkings is the most popular variant, followed by Superkings Menthol and Superkings Blue. Menthol versions were removed from many markets in 2020 under the EU ban, except in Gibraltar where they are still sold. Superkings is sold in the UK and in several other countries, including Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Malta, Greece, Cyprus, Belarus, Russia, Australia and New Zealand. Like all cigarettes, Superkings products are classified as containing carcinogens (IARC Group 1).
