Estonian Chess Championship
Estonian Chess Championship decides who is Estonia’s chess champion. The first unofficial championship was held in 1903 by a Tallinn chess club (then called Reval, part of the Russian Empire). After World War I, Estonia gained independence. The first official championship took place in 1923 in Tallinn and has been held every year since. The first women's championship was held in 1945.
