Dropion (Greek: Δροπίων; 250–230 BC) was an ancient Paeonian king and the son of Leon of Paionia. Some scholars, including Irwin Merker, say he was an ally of Aitolia during the war between Demetrios II and the Aetolian League. Merker also notes that when Demetrios or Antigonos Doson set up the Macedonian Koinon, Dropion copied this idea to modernize his kingdom and win support from his subjects. An inscription found in Olympia in 1877 on the base of a statue records that the Paeonians dedicated it to their king and founder, Dropion.
