Golam Shabbir Sattar (born 31 December 1962) is a Bangladeshi geologist and professor who served as the 24th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Rajshahi from August 2021 to August 2024. He was born to Sufia Khatun and the late Golam Sattar. He completed his SSC in 1978 at Govt. Laboratory High School, Rajshahi, and earned his B.Sc (1984) and M.Sc (1985) from the University of Rajshahi. He earned an M.Phil from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1996 and a Ph.D. from the University of Rajshahi in 2005, researching groundwater potential by combining geoelectrical and hydrogeological data in Chapai-Nawabganj. He was the chair of the Department of Geology & Mining at Rajshahi (2013–2016) and served as student adviser (2009–2012). He is the director of the Institute of Environmental Science. He is married to Professor Tanzima Yeasmin and has one child.
