Currents Bridge (Puente de las Corrientes) is a tied-arch bridge in Pontevedra, Spain, that crosses the Lérez River. It connects Uruguay Avenue with Domingo Fontán Street at a spot known as The Currents, where the Rons and Lérez rivers meet before flowing into the ria of Pontevedra. Construction began in December 2008 and the bridge opened on 28 June 2012. The bridge is about 138 meters long in total, with a main span of 116 meters, and is 30 meters wide. It rises about 10.5 meters above the water. The structure consists of two parallel white steel arches about 10.5 meters high, with 17 steel stays supporting the deck, all on reinforced concrete foundations. It carries two lanes for cars in each direction, plus two cycle paths, and there are covered pedestrian bridges on both sides. An underground pedestrian passage under the bridge provides light from a roundabout on Uruguay Avenue, and a glass screen along the ria lets people see the water during high tides.
