Mark Bocek is a Canadian retired mixed martial artist who competed in the UFC’s lightweight division from 2004 to 2014. Born on October 24, 1981, in Woodbridge, Ontario, he stood 5'9" tall, fought at 155 pounds, and had a 75-inch reach. Bocek trained with Tristar Gym and earned a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Joao Roque, becoming the first Canadian-born BJJ black belt. He also holds a black belt in Kempo Karate and has trained with Marcelo Garcia.

Bocek made his UFC debut at UFC 73, losing to Frankie Edgar by a first-round TKO. He later earned a decision win over Doug Evans at UFC 79, then lost to Mac Danzig by submission. He picked up a submission win over Alvin Robinson at UFC 91 and another submission over David Bielkheden at UFC 97. On The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale card, he defeated Joe Brammer by first-round submission. He then lost a close decision to Jim Miller at UFC 111, and submitted Dustin Hazelett at UFC 124. Bocek faced Benson Henderson at UFC 129 and lost by unanimous decision, then defeated Nik Lentz by decision at UFC 140. He beat John Alessio by unanimous decision at UFC 145 after Matt Wiman withdrew, and lost to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 154. Bocek was set to fight Michel Prazeres at UFC 165 but pulled out due to injury. He returned to win a split decision against Evan Dunham at The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale in 2014, with Mike De La Torre stepping in for Dunham. Bocek announced his retirement from mixed martial arts on August 5, 2014. He finished his career with a 17-5 record.
