Hirtomurex squamosus

Hirtomurex squamosus is a species of sea snail in the muricid family, the murex snails or rock snails. It lives in the North Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea (off Greece and Corsica), and also in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. The neotype specimen is kept at the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle (MNHN) in Paris. It was first described in 1838.
