Cerro Paranal Airport
Cerro Paranal Airport (ICAO: SCPA) is a private desert airstrip near Cerro Paranal in the Antofagasta region of northern Chile. It serves the Paranal Observatory and the nearby Cerro Armazones Observatory complex. The airport sits at 6,834 feet (2,083 meters) above sea level and is about 6 kilometers (4 miles) east-southeast of Cerro Paranal. Coordinates are 24.63889°S, 70.34861°W. It has a single gravel runway, 1,200 meters (3,937 feet) long, oriented 01/19. There is rising terrain to the west of the airstrip.
