Apollo (ship)

Apollo (ship) refers to several different ships named after the Greek god Apollo. The name was popular, so many vessels in various countries and eras carried it. Each Apollo was a separate ship with its own history, serving as a merchant vessel, a warship, or a specialized craft for exploration, transport, or other tasks. These ships sailed all around the world, and their fates varied: some were captured or wrecked, others retired or continued in service for many years. In short, there isn’t one Apollo ship—there were many, each with its own story.
